Welcome to another on hunt audio experience. Last year we kicked down the barriers to what a podcast is “supposed to be” and created an epic on hunt audio trip that the listener could follow along with. This year, we stepped up our game a bit more and I think our producer John knocked it out of the park. For those of you who follow me on the Instagram @therichoutdoors, you might know how the story ends, but hopefully, you enjoy listening in alongside to see how my season unfolds.

This year was a crazy year I spent quite a bit of time scouting and had turned up a ton of great elk. Going into the season I felt like my gear was as dialed as it has ever been and I was in great physical shape. With only one tag in my pocket and the whole month to get it done, I was excited to see what would unfold. Needless to say, there was no way I could have planned for what was about to happen.

Huge shout out to On X Maps, not only for all of the support but for making such a great product. On X has been invaluable for both scouting as well as for my entire Montana elk hunt. I use On X on the daily and would not be as successful in the field without it.

Also, big thanks to Backcountry Fuel for keeping me fueled throughout the season. each month a squirrel away snacks for this time of year and this season I had all kinds of cool stuff to try. I highly recommend you sign up for the monthly subscription so you can get a box of goodies every month, there is no downside or commitment If you don’t like it cancel at any time.
