Jez spoke to Leigh Piggot about this year's Finke attempt and his awesome cause.
Daniel & Angus went out for a motorbike ride in the bush one
afternoon in Feburary 2020, what was supposed to be a quick fun ride took a turn for the worse. Dan & Gussy came around the corner to a car on the wrong side of the track going way too fast and took gussy with him.
Angus suffered a broken pelvis, broken hip and broken femur a
compound fracture to right tibia and fibula, a fracture to his vertebrae
and a kidney laceration. He was in hospital for many weeks and had to have many surgeries whilst in there.
Gussy is one tough guy but he couldn’t have gotten through any of
that if it wasn’t for the support of the staff and their expertise at The
Royal Children’s Hospital.
Angus is now healthy and doing so well, he continues to support Dan
and the boys at every single race. He was a vital member of the boys pit crew at Finke in 2023 & 2024 and this year, he will be fulfilling a personal dream of competing in Finke himself, whilst raising money to give back to the heroes who saved his life.
Any donation big or small will help us to reach our goal. And for every $10 donation made, you will get a ticket into our raffle with some awesome prizes including a brand new motorbike for first prize!
