On this week’s episode, Tab and Paul took a night (and maybe a stiff drink and a cigar) to unwind from the most emotional, chaotic trade deadline in MLB history. Friday was a day and a half and the final two months of the regular season are going to be crazy because of it! The guys spend some time digging in on the biggest and most active team at the deadline: the Chicago Cubs. Anthony Rizzo is now a Yankee, Kris Bryant is a Giant and Javier Báez is a Met. The World Series chapter in the history of the Cubs franchise is now written and closed. Chicago fans had a tough week but Tab offered some thoughts on how and why Cubs GM Jed Hoyer made the moves and offers some optimism for fans who think the Cubs sold too much too lightly.

But the Cubs weren’t the only team to swing big at the deadline. The Dodgers grabbed a couple more superstars in Max Scherzer and Trea Turner as they try to repeat. The Braves bought an entirely new outfield. The Phillies added an All-Star to their rotation and the Blue Jays acquired an ace from Minnesota.
