We’re coming to the end of August, which means kids are heading back to school and baseball teams

across MLB are driving for the playoffs – or the 2022 draft.

Paul and Tab open the show looking around the standings. Suddenly, the Cincinnati Reds have leaped

the San Diego Padres for the second wild card spot in the National League. Can the swingin’ friars

rebound with a new pitching coach? Or are their issues too deep to come back from this rough stretch.

The guys then head over to the American League East to talk hot and cold. The Yankees haven’t lost

since the game in Iowa and are now running away with the AL wild card lead. Are they now the team to

be in the entire American League? They’ll benefit from six September games against the Baltimore

Orioles, who have lost 19 straight. The future is coming for the Orioles, but it isn’t here now – they’re

terrible.

Tab finishes the show talking about the recent, shocking news that Fanatics will replace Topps as the

licensed producer of baseball cards. The white-hot baseball card market has exploded since the

pandemic began, but after 70 years MLB and the MLBPA are moving on to Fanatics.
