Episode 23 - Thumbs Down at Citi Field

Listen Later

Nuthin' But Baseball! Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.
Part of the Revolver Podcast Network.
This week’s show kicks off with a special tribute. The Pittsburgh Pirates made history 50 years ago – Sept
1, 1971 – when they started an all-minority lineup. Those Pirates embraced what is great about sports:
putting the best players together to succeed. They made history in a way we should celebrate today.
Paul and Tab then spent time looking at the remarkable season in the American League. Wander Franco
is making history for the Tampa Bay Rays, reaching base in 31 straight games (and counting), the second-
longest streak in AL history for a player before turning 21. The guys also tipped their caps to Royals
catcher Salvador Perez, who is having one of the best offensive seasons ever for a catcher.
When the guys turned their attention to the National League, this week’s mess with the Mets was front
and center. Should fans boo? Should players care? Were Javier Baez, Francisco Lindor, Kevin Pillar and
others wrong for their thumbs down “celebration” and should we care? And who is going to step up and
be a leader in that organization?
The guys closed the show with their usual LDR Fantasy Add of the Week. Who should you consider as
you come down the home stretch in your fantasy league? Listen to this week’s episode to find out!
