A much more sinister episode, Bertha is working in a circus-cum-theatre near Goma on Lake Kivu in the DRC. This episode recounts her plot to free Alceste (a chimpanzee) and escape from the menacing Mathieu.

The untold stories are often the most interesting interesting. That is the spirit behind Bertha's World.

And freedom of mind, body and spirit for all creatures was Bertha's wish. To quote Ifeoluwa in Bertha's Law: "Be free to be!"
