This week we talked about Greed… Just a fun, little, easy topic right? The reality is, exposing Greed can be jolting to our flesh because it has become such a part of the fabric of our culture. Even in a nation with a strong Christian heritage, sins like Greed have not only become normal, they’re celebrated… Until you open God’s Word.

Jesus in the Gospels warns us about, not just money itself, but rather relying on money too much. See Greed isn’t just about money. It’s about trust. It’s that quiet voice that tells us if we could just get a little more, we’d finally have enough, more comfort, more control, more certainty. But Jesus teaches that life doesn’t come from what we gain, it comes from what we give. The pursuit of more can leave our souls in danger, while the lives of the generous become freer and larger. 

Proverbs 11:24 - “The world of generous gets larger and larger, but the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”

We unpacked it all this week as studied the outrageous generosity of God in a message titled, “From Greed to Generosity”.
