Last Thursday, we experienced some drama in the
telecommunications industry. We had a Cell phone outage that effected tens of thousands
of cell phones across the country. I hope this was a call for all of you to get
you to think about how you would communicate without your cell phones during an
outage. It isn’t just cell phone outages I believe we will have in the future. I
believe we will have internet outages, power outages, etc. One of the ways we
can communicate during an outage particularly a cell phone outage is through
ham radio. Paul from Billings was my guest on this episode of the Rocky
Mountain Freedom Zone Podcast. We discussed how to communicate on a Ham Radio
without a repeater. We also talked about how to get a license from the Federal
Communications Commission, and we discussed the fact that the government uses
Ham Radio Operators to communicate during natural disasters and other emergencies.
Folks, this was a very fascinating conversation and Ham Radio is one of my favorite
topics to discuss. Buckel up and enjoy the ride.
