Maya speaks to the Silence that is necessary for reclaiming our energized and focused self. We have arrived at the death of a year, and with it the loss of dreams, longing for happier times , the regret of missed chances and possibly, the cremation of hope. I sit and watch the furling ashes over a pasture of woad set in motion by nature’s palpable silence. Her wavering silence resound through the heart in winter’s distant promise of blossoming flowers, now the properly cold gleaming through the leaves and branches, the sanguine clouds in fumey air, vast space, igneous rock, and blackened soil, emulating the serenity of precipitous tears on the morning grass I long for silence.
For silence heals. silence revives spirit. silence reminds me of my immortal Self. Be Still. Listen to the hushing sounds before the silence, observe: In observing we become still. Stillness is the secret of the trees and mountains. They are in no hurry to accelerate the process of becoming. When you bathe in moonlight, you become moonlit; when you sit in the forest, you become the essence of the trees; when you climb a mountain you become that mountain. They are all essential stillness in quiet motion. Observe nature and allow yourself to be transformed. Transformation is the fire of observation. Stillness is the gift of awareness. Sit within yourself for twenty minutes. Allow yourself to be vacant, to receive the light of the infinite. Allow the pain to pass. Allow the simple grace of your being. Allow. If there is anger, give to room to resound. Give it a field in which to play itself out. Observing silence is the natural grace of presence. Let go. surrender to the Silence.
