Today, amongst other things, RÚV English takes in stunning views and sounds in West Iceland.

The lighthouse in Akranes, around a hour north of Reykjavík, welcomes many visitors - and musicians, who appreciate the remarkable acoustics inside the structure. Darren meets Hilmar Sigvaldason, who keeps the lighthouse open for those who want to see (and hear) what it's all about.

You can climb the stairs inside, right to the top, and step outside next to the lamp for some wonderful views of Akranes and out into Faxaflói.
