We were delighted to welcome a special guest on this season-closer: Simon Kelly. He was the latest league legend to join the exclusive 20,000 runs club. Simon joined us to chat about his remarkable career and took on our quickfire “career in a minute” quiz.

It was a full house too, with Cobber, Andrew, Dom and Jacob all back on the mic to look over another action-packed season. We picked out our five standout “clubs of the season” and discussed what made each of their campaigns so impressive.

Things got lively when we all named our Team of the Season — each of us choosing our best batters, bowlers, fielders and wicketkeeper to build what might just be the ultimate Huddersfield League XI for 2025.

And finally we played tribute to one of the Huddersfield Cricket League's most popular umpires; Barrie Dyson who passed away over the summer.
