Episode 79: Help Your Students & Families Get a Good Night's Sleep

Did you know that 80% of autistic children have difficulty sleeping?

How many times as a special educator have you heard “He just isn’t sleeping well” or “He goes to sleep and then wakes up in the middle of the night” or "It’s going to be a rough day today because she didn’t sleep well.”

Often, Autistic children find it hard to sleep because of sensory sensitivities to their sleeping environment. And that’s where today’s guest comes in.

George Bailey is here to chat with us about something I had never even seen a picture of before but feel like this idea has been living somewhere deep in my brain forever! So I could not be more excited to start sharing this idea with my student’s parents and to let you in on this amazing product as well.

George is a co-founder of zPods which are beds designed to increase sleep quality and have a profound impact on Autistic and neurodivergent children and their families.

George and I discuss:

  • How the idea came about
  • The components of the bed and the reasons behind them
  • Success stories
  • Cost  & solutions
  • How to communicate to parents

So much good stuff in this episode and I can't wait to start the conversations with the parents on my caseload!

And guess what...!? There is a VIP discount, which you can learn about on their website. They are selling the first 288 Made in USA beds at an over 40% discount, shipping included.
