The shopping site Etsy announced on Wednesday that it was buying Depop, a secondhand shopping platform designed for the age of influencers selling stuff on social media. Recode’s Rebecca Heilweil explains why Gen Z shoppers love Depop, and how it fits into Etsy’s future plans.
