Four of the eight technologies that underpin the world's securities markets were invented in Australia. The man behind two of those ideas has just won Australia's biggest innovation prize, worth a quarter of a million dollars. Mike Aitken is tonight being awarded the Prime Minister's prize for innovation, as CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for Capital Markets. The CRC pulled in $100 million from the sale of one product, and has reinvested the funds in new ideas, one of which could even upstage Blockchain in markets. Mike Aitken speaks exclusively to Ticky.
