Fireworks in Paradise is the 8th in the Tj Jensen Mystery series by Kathi Daley. Tj, Kyle, family and friends cut their vacation on Gull Island short, returning to Serenity, after a call from Dr. Hanson informing them that Tjâs Father has been critically injured and a family friend died in an auto accident. Tj quickly learns that there wasn't an accident, rather someone cut the brake line on the judge's car. Tjâs efforts to help investigate are hampered by a new, âby the bookâ officer. Tj and Kyle start their investigation by exploring the judge's murder by reviewing his old cases. As their search for answers deepens, Tj, Kyle and Deputy Roy realize this incident goes far deeper and back in time. Accident? One murder? Two murders? The ultimate findings are explosive on several levels and packed with the power of an amazing fireworks display. Kathi Daley has delivers another well written plot with multiple twists and turns, well developed characters and a budding romance between Tj and Kyle. Will Tj open her heart to love? A great addition to this cozy mystery series. Ms. Daley has hinted at a variety of opportunities to continue this series into the future. I can't wait to see how the relationships develop! I love all of Kathi Daley's books and especially her small town feel and all of the excellent lovable characters. In this book T.J. Jensen has to rush home after she finds out her dad was in a serious car accident. When she arrives home she finds out that her dad is on critical condition and that Judge Harper has died. The surprise is that it wasn't an accident as someone cut the brake line on the judge's car. T.J. begins to investigate and she gets the help of Officer Roy but there is a new officer who plays by the book and disagrees with civilians helping out. So T.J. and Kyle, who are now dating, begin to look into the judge's murder by investigating his old cases.

In typical Kathi Daley fashion this story has ups and downs with a race to find the murderer that goes to a surprising conclusion. I highly recommend this book and all Kathi Daley books to you as you will fall in love with her characters and her stories just as much as I have.
