In this episode, Daniel and Mathias are talking about Flóki. According to legend, Flóki followed a raven to Iceland and built a settlement there. Unfortunately, his settlement failed, but he did end up being responsible for naming the country "Iceland." In HBO's show "Vikings," Flóki is an important character who is responsible for inventing Viking ships, and largely functions as Ragnar Lothbrok's right-hand man. As a trickster figure in Vikings, many aspects of Flóki's story are directly inspired by Old Norse myths about Loki.
