Former Broward Sheriffs Office sergeant, Travis Allen, is suing his former employer for wrongful termination, alleging violations of Floridas Sunshine Laws and other statutes. Allen claims he was fired without due process following his response to a triple murder in Tamarac, Florida, in February. He maintains he did his best that night and was not aware of the connection between the victim and the suspect, Nathan Gingles. Allens attorney, Stephan Lopez, supports his claim, stating that Allen has not been able to access publicly available materials related to the internal affairs case. The Broward Sheriffs Office Media Relations Department has not commented on the pending litigation.
