This past Wednesday, FOX Nation aired its third annual Patriot Awards to honor America's true heroes, including military veterans, first responders and other inspirational and everyday American patriots. It will also re-air tonight on the FOX News Channel.

FOX News contributor and Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Pete Hegseth hosted the event that took place at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL and was streamed live on Fox Nation. 

Hegseth joined the FOX News Rundown before the award show and spoke to host Lisa Brady about the story behind the awards, and some of the patriots they planned on paying tribute to.  

The "Fox and Friends Weekend" co-host also discussed his fellow veterans and what can be done to help them transition after they end their service.

Early Friday morning, Israel conducted a "limited" strike on Iran in retaliation for Tehran firing a barrage of missiles and drones at the country last Saturday. Reports suggest Iran doesn't have immediate plans to respond to the most recent attack. However, U.S. lawmakers fear a wider Mideast war is on the horizon, with the House proposing several bills throughout the week. One such bill passed that would redesignate Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen as a terrorist group. Senior Fellow and Military Expert at Defense Priorities Daniel Davis joins to discuss the current state of play in Iran. 
House Democrats took an abnormal approach and helped Republican leaders move forward with a test vote that could advance a bill that would provide $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) faces pushback from some House GOP members who feel that Congress should not pass the bill without including provisions for the Southern border. Speaker Johnson's fate lies in the hands of the vote, with some Congressional Republicans threatening to oust him. The House will officially vote on the bill on Saturday afternoon. FOX News Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram speaks to FOX News White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich about the fate of the speakership and previews Saturday's vote.

From Washington: Israel's "Limited Strike" on Iran

Israel carried out what has been described as a 'limited' missile strike against Iran in retaliation to Tehran firing more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel just days ago. The strike targeted a major air base and a nuclear site in Isfahan province about 200 miles south of Tehran. Meanwhile, two men are arrested in Germany accused of spying for Russia and plotting a bombing to undermine German aid to Ukraine.   

FOX's John Saucier speaks with Dr. Rebecca Grant, president of IRIS Independent Research specializing in defense and aerospace research and consulting, who says the strike was extremely 'selective' and taught both countries much about their military capabilities.

Border Crisis, Anti-Israel Protests Put Pressure On Democrats

New York City police were called in by the President of Columbia University in order to break up an anti-Israel protest encampment. At least 100 anti-Israel protesters were arrested and hauled away in corrections buses. Protesters were calling for the destruction of Israel and shouting out support for the terror group Hamas.     

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Adam Lehman, the President and CEO of Hillel International, the largest Jewish student organization in the world, about the increasing anti-Israel protests happening on campuses across the country.

Evening Edition: Police Called To Break Up Anti-Israel Protest At Columbia

After 25 years at National Public Radio, Senior Editor Uri Berliner resigned Wednesday following backlash from fellow journalists regarding comments he made about NPR's political agenda. Berliner published an essay in The Free Press earlier this month critiquing his former employer's liberal bias, which allegedly increased following the 2016 election. Before his departure, Berliner was suspended from NPR for failing to secure approval to speak with other news outlets. Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and former member of the Board of Directors at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Howard Husock, joins the Rundown to share why people criticize NPR's public funding and why journalists should remain open-minded.

A part of the immigration debate came to an end Wednesday after both articles of impeachment against U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas were voted unconstitutional in the Senate. Illegal migrant encounters reached record levels in 2023, and released migrants are scattered throughout the U.S., with many ending up in self-proclaimed “sanctuary cities.” Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has announced the city plans to spend $90 million to help migrants who come to his city for six months. Within days of the Mayor’s announcement, two counties sued, challenging the state’s sanctuary laws. Douglas County Commissioner George Teal joins the podcast to explain the lawsuit, how Denver has reached “a critical mass point” with their migrant population, and how the issue threatens to spillover and hurt surrounding communities and migrants alike.
