From Islamic Nation of Indonesia to the LOVE of Christ!
I was born in a Muslim family. I learned to read the Quran from elementary school to Junior High or until my Ustaz (teacher) passed away.
I joined the Islamic organization called NII (Islamic Nation of Indonesia) in the year of 1997, which is a prohibited organization in Indonesia. They recruited me to be a jihadist recruiter, male or female.
In May 1998, there was a nationwide incident in Indonesia called the tragedy of May 98'. That was a plan by my organization, which shocked me. One of the victims is my friend's sister. She was gang raped by a group of Muslims who left her on the street naked.
On January 1st, 1999, I questioned Allah's answer and proved he was a god. Of course, there was no answer.
Since that day, I have left Islam and have been agnostic for 13 years.
At the beginning of 2011, I started attending church after someone emailed me saying," Jesus Loves me." I became enraged because it insulted me, and I hated the name of Jesus, although I began to like Christian songs.
Around the summer of 2012, I played the song" Amazing Love" on my iTunes on a Tuesday evening.
There is something about that song. Every time I try to sing along to the sentence: "Jesus, you are my King," my tongue is in pain and numb.
I went to my room and shut the door while still trying to say the name of Jesus from that song.
Out of my frustration, I shout, "HELP Me, Jesus!
And as soon as the name of Jesus came out of my mouth, I felt there was darkness that came out of me violently. A bright light came from the corner of my room. It was bright, so bright, and filled the whole room. As the light went away, I saw my door was half open, just enough for a person to walk in. I feel the peace and never stop calling the name of Jesus until I fall asleep.
I shared this experience with my roommate, who invited me to her church for a Wednesday evening service.
That night, the pastor (a woman) invited anyone to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, and on that night, I surrendered my life to Jesus. I never looked back until today.
