Description:

Dr. Yu is a Southern California Native who was a business major in college, and experimented as a personal trainer, a physical therapist, and as a hospital volunteer before making the jump to do a PostBac to get into medical school. Dr. Yu went on to complete Medical School and a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Rosalind Franklin Medical School. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and is now in his final year as a Rheumatology fellow. He is currently board certified in Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Yu is active in the American college of Lifestyle Medicine pushing the boundary of what it means to treat patients from a holistic perspective. Suffering himself as a patient, Dr. Yu was diagnosed with Gout in high school and then went on to be diagnosed with Spondylarthritis and pseudogout. Dr. Yu specializes in dietary and lifestyle modifications for treating rheumatologic diseases and is actively researching turmeric and systemic lupus erythematosus. Dr. Yu is the husband of Dr. Mondala who was our guest on Episode 76.

In this episode, we dive deep discussing his journey as a physician, how he used diet and lifestyle to put his illnesses into remission, and how we uses his experience as a patient to connect with his patients.
