Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Many Christians have an image of Christ as a heavenly pajama boy, someone who is pleasant and harmless. Yet one day He made a whip and drove the money-changers out of the temple, scattering their money all over the floor and starting a stampede in the House of God. What gave Him the authority, the right to do this? He said you are doing this in My family home. Using your own house to rip people off is one thing, but using My Father’s house to do it is another thing altogether. Zeal for His father’s house consumed Him. The phony spiritual leaders in Jesus’ time learned on that day that, just like Aslan, Jesus is not a tame lion. He’s good, but He’s not safe. His goodness leads Him to discipline those who are doing evil in His name. He won’t make us obey Him, but He can make us wish we had. Let’s not let it come to that.
