He turned his horse around

가짜 신부를 집으로 다시 데리고 갔습니다.

and took the false bride home again,

그녀는 찾던 사람이 아니라고 말하면서요.

saying that she was not the right one,

그러자 다른 자매가 신발을 신어보리라 했습니다.

and that the other sister should try on the shoe.

그녀는 그녀의 침실로 갔습니다.

She went into her bedroom,

그리고 그녀의 발끝은 신에 잘 맞았습니다.

and got her toes into the shoe all right,

그러나 그녀의 뒷꿈치가 너무 컸습니다.

but her heel was too large.

그러자 그녀의 엄마가 칼을 가지고 와서 말하길

Then her mother gave her a knife, and said,

뒷꿈치를 조금 잘라내렴

"Cut a piece off your heel.

네가 여왕이 되면

When you are queen

너는 더이상 발을 딛고 걸어다니지 않아도 될거야

you will no longer have to go on foot."

소녀는 그녀의 발꿈치를 조금 잘라냈습니다.

The girl cut a piece off her heel,

신발에 그녀의 발을 밀어 넣었습니다.

forced her foot into the shoe,

고통을 삼키면서

swallowed the pain,

그리고 왕자에게로 갔습니다.

and went out to the prince.

그는 그녀를 그의 말에 태웠고

He took her on his horse

그녀를 신부로써 그녀와 함께 가던 중이었습니다.

as his bride and rode away with her.

그들이 헤이즐 나무를 지날 때에

When they passed the hazel tree,

두마리의 비둘기가 그곳에 앉아있었고

the two pigeons were sitting in it,

그들이 지저귀길

and they cried out:

로크디구 로크디구!

Rook di goo, rook di goo!

저 신발 속에 피가 가득해

There's blood in the shoe.

그 신발은 너무 꽉 끼어

The shoe is too tight,

그 신부는 진짜가 아니야!

This bride is not right!

그는 그녀의 발을 내려다 보았고

He looked down at her foot

얼마나 많은 피가 그녀의 신발에서 흐르는지 보았습니다.

and saw how the blood was running out of her shoe,

얼마나 많은 피가 그녀의 하얀 양말을 물들였는지 온통 빨갛게 되었죠.

and how it had stained her white stocking all red.

그래서 그는 그의 말을 돌려서

Then he turned his horse around

가짜 신부를 집으로 데려다 주었습니다.

and took the false bride home again.
