Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! I’m so excited to drop a little March episode on you to say “Happy Spring” to all of you! My family and I have been on Spring Break together in Southern California and what a beautiful beginning to Spring it has been! Today is a “Mini Me” episode updating you on where we’ve been and where we’re headed with the podcast and for those of you who have listened from the beginning, some more “bullseye” talk as we are reminded that small stirrings and starts are important and vital and that Jesus can work (in abundance) through what little we think we have today…as long as we are diligent to offer it to Him! The Glorious in the Mundane, inspires listeners to fully embrace what God has placed right in front of them, knowing that He can meet them anytime and anywhere. As it turns out, the seemingly small things in life are sometimes the most significant of all.

I have LOVED this spring series so much! God has been reminding me of truth that He set in my heart, so long ago, knowing that I would need that truth to wash over me again, TODAY! We are going to remember together, that God always knows where to find us. Though there’s much temptation to just skip being made in the secret place (especially when we see the world around us charging forward!) God is preparing us, protecting us and will promote us when we wait in trust for Him. 

We will also look into the connection of God’s presence being one of the central ways that we are able to remain in the love of God, as Jesus commanded us. It’s going to be a beautiful time to even receive His love over us once more! I’ll talk to you soon!  Listen to 'You Revive Me'

Season 9 Episode 6 // Be Loved

Today we are celebrating the release of another EP called “Knees to the Earth,” which is the next three songs from the "Live from Keeper's Branch" album  that we are unfolding this spring! Not only are these songs so sacred to us, many of them have very sacred stories behind them and today’s song emphasis, “Knees to the Earth,” is definitely one of those kind of stories! You don’t want to miss it!  And you know me, it’s never just about the song or its story, but it’s always about the truth that’s set in them! Today we’ll keep coming around what it looks like to bloom where we are planted, even when it’s hidden and hard! We’ll encourage each other in waiting on the Lord, as we also learn to look for the ways He is speaking to us, leading us and is with us, as we’re being “made” in the secret! I’ll talk to you soon! Season 9 Episode 5 // Knees to the Earth

Okay so…somehow this episode got really personal! Did I actually just reveal what I want my “Grandma” name to be, someday?  Or, maybe it feels personal because this song, “Lord, I Need You”, that we’ll come around today, is very dear to me! I’ll talk about being a part of writing it around a table of dear friends, who have been more like brothers to me. But, I’ll also give you some insight into being the only woman at that table, and in that community, for a very long time. It was both a privilege and a pruning ground that God used to grow me as a woman, songwriter and leader.  I’ll also begin a narrative that I’ll carry throughout some of the other episodes this spring, about the very beginnings of God calling me to songwriting and worship leading. Rather than doors flying open and me, running with momentum, it was more a still—even sometimes silent and hidden—beginning. It was more that God had given me a deposit and a promise of something that was to come. Season 9 Episode 4 // Lord I Need You

I am so excited to continue this spring series, coming around my new EP,  “You Revive Me”, available everywhere you listen to music! Y’all know me by now, that these songs are simply a diving board for us to plunge into the deep together! Into the glorious things of God…right in the middle of our mundane! Today we will do just that, as we come around the beautiful offering that each of us have to bring, in worship of our King. In each episode, we’re taking the time to put into practice the truth we’re remembering together. 

Today we’ll ask God to help us visualize— and therefore, hopefully value— the offering that our lives and hearts truly are to Him!

Season 9 Episode 3 // The Heart of Worship

It has been so beautiful to get to release some new, yet familiar—even tried and true songs—in this season! One of those is the song, “Breathe” paired with another beloved song, “Let it Be Jesus.” 

Today, I’ll take you back to the seasons I was in when I first began to sing and lead both of these beautiful songs. They were very significant seasons in my life and in my spiritual formation, and to merge them together on this new album is such a joy. It’s amazing how songs can truly become guideposts and guardrails in our journey, even a gateway to surrendering more of our heart to God’s heart! 

We’ll kind of walk through that gateway together, using these two songs, and talk about how God wants these proclamations we sing to become realities in our hearts and lives. “God, I breathe Your Name above everything,” is more than just a beautiful lyric! It’s a posture of resolve and rest, and a deep trust that everything we need is found in Jesus.
