God and TikTok - a Different take on YT Girl Defined Video, "Should Christian Girls Use TikTok?"

Listen Later

Wasn't planning on this episode but Kristen and Bethany from the YouTube channel Girl Defined sparked a conversation I believe needed to be had. This episode is by no means a "response" or "cringe" video, simply me sharing my own perspective on God in relation to TikTok. Ultimately I want this conversation to inspire you to make wise decisions on what you spend your time doing and to also remember that God is not mad at you or is waiting for you to delete the app. I have TikTok and I love it - we Christians can have fun!

In this episode we discuss:

The demonization of secular trends

Pros and cons of TikTok

Our ability as people of Christ to discern where to put our energy

Like to get saved? Recite the prayer below or with me at the end of the podcast!

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name I pray and believe, amen.”

Congratulations! You just made the best decision of your life! I am more than happy for you! Remember the prayer above is there for guidance if you don’t know what to say. The best prayer you can pray is the most honest prayer you can pray. You can pray wherever however, eyes open or closed - just be open. Tell God anything! He/She/They is excited to hear from you! She loves you dearly, you are His beloved. They have a plan for your life and are happy to hear from you!

Here are a few steps to follow from this point:

  1. Tell someone! Community is vital!
  2. Pray! As often as you’d like, daily would be best. Doesn’t matter how long just pour out your heart to God. Listen to the Spirit speak back to you.
  3. Buy a Bible or get the app. There are plenty of Bible plans out there - find one that interests you.
  4. Find a church near you or online. (Ask God to show you one that would work best for you!)
  5. Grow your relationship with God! This comes through drawing close to God and allowing He/She/They to guide you. If you’re having a hard time SAY THAT! God already knows what you’re thinking - She loves you and wants to help you!
  6. "What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Thank you for listening! God bless!
