God chose the foolishness of preaching. God always has someone to preach.
1 Corinthians 1:17
The wisdom of words is sinful. In the Garden of Eden, we see the devil come and bring enticing words. Many so-called preachers stand and also give enticing words and they have no meat for the Spirit. People that think the preaching of the cross is foolish will perish.
People made the foolishness of preaching for those that want to believe. Only one way to be saved and that’s to believe in Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Just because you are smart, have money, have a lot of personal belongings doesn’t get you to Heaven.
Jesus’ own people, the Jew’s rejected Him. Still to this day the Jewish people reject Jesus Christ. The preaching of God’s Word is for the Gentile people, us because we believe.
When you have things in your life that you can’t deal with, bring them to God and lay them at His feet. Don’t pick it back up, leave it there.
Don’t believe in the wisdom of the world. If you’re lost and hear the preaching of the cross it will come to you as foolishness until God knocks on your heart. Once you’re convicted of your sins and realize you’re lost the cross becomes significant. Once you believe and are saved the preaching of the cross becomes precious.
