Iain Carter presents a 5 Live Sport Special investigating the uncomfortable relationship golf has historically with race.

You’ll hear from Damon Hack, presenter of the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive programme in the US, former European tour player Zane Scotland and Jas Athwal, the organiser of the UK Asian Open.

They all share their shocking experiences of what it’s really like to be a BAME person involved in the sport.

We’re also joined by Maurice Allen – the first African American player to become World Long Drive Champion – who tells us how he feels he’s a “black man in a white sport.”

They debate whether the sport has failed to capitalise on the success of Tiger Woods, and if he himself has done enough to promote diversity in the game, and what strides golf needs to make to become more accessible for everyone.
