Much better than Book#1 & is written more in the Vaughan tradition...

I had a feeling when I read the first of the Remington books, "Red River Revenge" that it was just to whet your appetite as you get acquainted with Ned Remington. So right! Ned Remington is a U.S. Deputy Marshal under Judge Samuel Parkhurst Barnstall. Remington has Leroy Switcher under arrest for murder, rape & robbery & he's taking him back to Galena, Missouri after running him to ground in the Choctaw Nations. The two men who ran off with Switcher had vamoosed when Remington snagged Switcher & now Remington has an itch that won't quit. There's more than one way to skin a cat & these two cats have now used up their nine lives & are on their way to meet their maker thanks to Remington & much to the surprise of Switcher. Afterwards, Remington lets Switcher know in his own unique way that if there was any doubt about the outcome he would have blown Switcher's brains out before he would allow him to escape which quickly made a believer of Switcher & they proceed unmolested to Galena & Switcher's appointment with a hangman's noose & Remington's next assignment.

But it is never the end for Remington...until he finds the man or men who took the life of his beloved wife, Mary & thrust his daughter Katy into a world of silence, Ned Remington will go on searching & along the way, with Judge Barnstall's help, he will get justice for other innocents of the evil men in this world.
