Governor Tony Evers called for unity and compassion Tuesday evening in his eighth and final State of the State Address, where he declared 2026 the “Year of the Neighbor.”

But with the end of this legislative session approaching fast, the partisan divide is still evident – particularly on how Wisconsin’s multibillion dollar surplus should be spent.
