Another Awesome Read From Francine
I'm a die-hard Francine Rivers fan. Every book that I've read has been amazing, and this one was no exception. I was again pulled into the story from chapter one. I couldn't put it down. I've said this over and over again but Francine's ability to make the reader feel every emotion of every character in her books is amazing to me. I say if you are a Francine Rivers' fan, give this book a go! You won't be disappointed. I would also like to add that the narator did an awesome job.Fantastic read!
Loved this book!
Great story & terrific narration. I didn't want the book to end. Hope there will be a sequel!
An Adventurous Spirit in an Independent Woman
It was a great story, moving over many years in the life of a girl, growing up to be an independent woman. Many short stories among the novel, each place she moved to or new job had its own little story going on within the plot of the novel. I liked the strong, independent woman who was the main character. She had much courage. I liked the detail, it was a good amount to get into the characters without getting lost in too many subplots. Then, after giving us all of that detail, the story ended abruptly. I felt like it could have gone on a bit longer to tie up the lose ends. Narration was good.
Very engaging characters
Not sure I'd have chosen this, except it was a book club selection. Francine Rivers is always a good read, because her character development is superb. You feel like you KNOW the people in the book, and continue thinking about them when you're finished with the story. That's my definition of a good book. Another test of a good book? You don't want it to end! I'm glad this one ha a sequel!
Forgiveness
I've read all her books and as always the bottom line in her books is a spiritual truth. I feel
the story showed how forgiveness to the ones we love the most can change the path of ones life and
last for generations. Book was great but I would have liked a better ending. I wanted to know how
Marta's life ended and if Hilda survived. But I can happily imagine a good ending for all. Ms Rivers please continue to write your historical
fiction christian books.
