High Energy or ADHD adult? Lets find out..

Listen Later

This week we look at the difference between a high energy person  vs. ADHD

So many times I have had adults come into therapy and have a bunch of diagnoses for behaviors that treatment has not worked for. that is because they were in fact adult ADHD and they never knew it.

Simply put ADHD messes with your life where high energy does not cause as many problems....

Adult ADHD symptoms may include:

  • Impulsiveness (money, words,)
  • Disorganization and problems prioritizing (what do I do first)
  • Poor time management skills (late for work, forgot appointments)
  • Problems focusing on a task (start a task move to a new one )
  • Trouble multitasking (never finish a task)
  • Excessive activity or restlessness (always need to move something)
  • Poor planning (no idea what they have to do next week)
  • Low frustration tolerance (feeling overwhelmed)
  • Frequent mood swings (happy, angry, sad all in like 10 mins)
  • Problems following through and completing tasks
  • Hot temper (see frustration)
  • Trouble coping with stress
  • Relationship problems
  • Missing personal responsibilities (forgetting bills)
