Excellent historical romance, strong characters& strong storyline (not erotica)

I enjoyed this 2nd book of the Brothers in Arms series (3 books) even more than the first. Great story setup, plausible situation of the time in history, and both hero & heroine have very strong morals that complement each other. There are plot and character twists that kept this reader wondering how the characters would find love & how the hero would be proved innocent. The HEA was hard won but intense and strong in the end. The writing was at times lyrical, fitting to this time in history @ the same time helping the reader get into the emotions of the characters: "The compelling innocence of her kiss swept across his senses like a stormy summer breeze on a windswept moor." HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Absolutely Adore Shayla's books

Absolutely Adore Shayla's books. I can only hope to be half as good at writing as she is. The stories have a way of pulling you in and being able to relate to the characters. The stories are also plausible which makes them even better. I will be a fan for life. Spend the money and read the book it is worth it.

Compared to her other stories, this one is a bit of a let down. Compared to other "historical" romance writers I read, it's an even bigger let down. Shayla is an incredible author, and has a number of other series/styles that fantastic (and some of my favorites) to read, unfortunately, this is not one of those series.

excellent read

I very much enjoyed this story and recommend it highly. It has everything a good book should have. I don't think you will be disappointed when you read it.

Descent read

Good story, a bit drawn out. Very well written by an experienced Arthur. Great chemistry between the H&H. It started to get stale after a while because he couldn't say the 3 words she needed to hear. And the way she haggled him about it, would have ruined it for me. But all together, it was fun to read.
