Last Week After Pentecost
đź’¬ Episode Description:
Today’s readings invite us to see both God’s fierce justice and His transforming love—calling us to live with hearts fully His.
📖 Nahum 1:1–13 reveals God as a refuge for the oppressed and a avenger against evil. The Lord is slow to anger, rich in justice, and powerful to save. What terrifies His enemies becomes comfort to His people.“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble.” (Nahum 1:7)
📖 1 Peter 1:13–25 calls us to respond to that saving love by living holy, set-apart lives. We do not belong to the empty lifestyles around us—we’ve been purchased at the price of Christ’s blood. We are redeemed to reflect His holiness.
📖 In Matthew 19:13–22, Jesus welcomes children and exposes a heart that loves its own treasures more than God. The rich young ruler wanted eternal life without surrender. Jesus invites us to a better life—one that releases idols to embrace Him fully.
🔥 Together, these passages ask us a question: Is Jesus truly our treasure, our security, and our Lord? Holiness flows from love, and love demands surrender.🔖
