Homai Vyarawalla fit so much incredible stuff into the first half of her life. She was India's first female photojournalist, and her career spanned some of the most important years in India’s recent history including the 10 years leading up to India’s independence from the British Empire, and then the 20 years of the republic.

Also discussed was Saumya Khandelwa, a photojournalist from Delhi focusing on gender and environmental issues.
