“Suffering Victoriously As Christians!”   This is the theme of our present mini-series of sermons taken from the text of the first epistle of Peter.  This morning’s sermon is another call for a paradigm shift in our thinking to prepare us to experience, survive, and thrive during times of suffering in our future.  The audience Peter was addressing were Christians who were soon to experience the suffering at the hands of the corrupt and insane depot, Nero.  We don’t know what our future holds but to be mentally prepared is essential.  So, we must listen as the LORD speaks through Peter to prepare all Christian in every generation to suffer at the hands of godless men.  This morning we will wrestle with a little spoken of passage that calls us to fulfill God’s will be submitting ourselves to every human institution ordained by LORD.  This morning we will examine some of these institutions and how we must respond to them in order to live within the will of our God.  We will not be asked to do anything that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did not do, but rather, we will be asked to walk in His footsteps in honoring all people including those who have the power and authority to inflict great suffering.
