Episode 7: Honouring Life and Death for Resilience with Amanda Ng
Amanda Ng is a curious and innovative community builder. With a Master's in Public Health, she is passionate about creating healthy and equitable communities, facilitating authentic conversations, and inspiring individuals to find their true selves. She is a firm believer that finding our true selves has positive ripple effects in our community. She finds immense joy in moving and shaking her body in any way. She has taught kickboxing, bootcamps, and now teaches mindful movement/meditation classes. A lifelong learner of holistic ways of healing, she has also completed training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Medical Qi Gong (200hr), Acupressure, and Reiki Level 1. Amanda is committed to helping people feel seen, loved, and accepted. To help others find the courage to speak from the heart and connect in authentic ways - with a sprinkle of laughter.
In this episode Amanda shares her expertise on resilience with humility. She embodies resilience by practicing, teaching, and sharing the wellness practices that have deeply impacted her life path. Amanda reminds us of the powerful fertilizer for resilience: humour.
The way Amanda shares her deep understanding of life and what really matters is transformative. She emphasizes the magnitude of shared stories and takes the opportunity to share her own personal story of life and death in the family. Amanda teaches us some new (and ancient) resilience tools to practice for the coming seasons including Meditation, Creative Writing, Storytelling, and Qi Gong.
Amanda reminds us that it is inevitable that we are going to get brought down and taken off centre, but it is how we come back that shows our resilience. She shares the message passed down from her grandfather to “always finish something you start”. I hope you find this podcast as uplifting and inspiring as I did! May you be well.
