We’re diving back into the book of Mark this Sunday, and what a passage we get to explore together! We’ll be looking at Mark 11:1-11, which is commonly known as the Triumphal Entry. At first glance, it might seem just like that, a triumphant and momentous time of celebration, but as we’ll read closely, we will see Jesus receiving a surprisingly underwhelming welcome into Jerusalem. It’s far from the kingly reception you might expect.
Now, Jesus knew this would be the case, but it begs us to ask an important question we must all come to answer: What will I do with Jesus? Do I truly acknowledge him as my king? Do I only want him for my own purposes? Or am I going to live my life my way, for myself, and subsequently ignore him and his salvation?

If it’s true that the ultimate decisions are not made in Washington or London or Baghdad but in Heaven, then one thing follows. There is no security for us in this world but only in God himself. Therefore, let’s not put our trust in man but in God alone.
