That is Hema Khodai, an educator who lives relatively close to Kyle and I in Mississauga Ontario. Hema is a high school math teacher turned instructional resource teacher. We speak with Hema today about her 2019 Make Math Moments Virtual Summit presentation called “Who is a Mathematician”. Hema’s session was one of the most watched sessions during our two-day virtual conference back in November.  Stick around to hear how relationships help build / or wreck a student's ability to identify as a mathematician; why it’s so important that we educators know our why; and how math has to be a community endeavour.    You’ll Learn:  How relationships help build / or wreck a student's ability to identify as a mathematician.  Why it’s so important that we educators know our why.  How math has to be a community endeavour
