HousingWire: What is something that we should all be watching right now regarding the news?

Sarah Wheeler: I think the biggest news over the weekend was the stimulus bill going through. There was a lot of hand-wringing over the last month as many wondered the eventual shape of the bill. However, they did get it done, and we now have a stimulus bill. I think many people have focused on the $600 coming through to American households, which is certainly a big part of it, and that's just a stimulus check. But for our audience, we really want to examine the impact on homeowners or renters looking to become homeowners, which is what we're doing a deep dive on today. Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity, wrote an op-ed piece for HousingWire last week discussing what he hoped the stimulus bill would include. One of the interesting things in his take on that was that he felt like there should be money for low-income homeowners. There have been quite a few things for unemployed renters but not so much for homeowners based on how much money they make, yet that could greatly impact our industry. I don't see that in this particular stimulus bill, but we haven't dug into it all the way yet.
