South Africa has a serious unemployment problem, particularly among young people. Despite the existing initiatives from government and other stakeholders the number still continues to sky-rocket according to unemployed youth statistics. We also still live in anytime where right after varsity or even school, young people still go straight into the work environment with no preparation of how to conduct themselves or what to expect. How ready are young people for the workplace? Why is workplace readiness essential for young people to flourish in the workplace?
