The federal government has committed more than a $1 billion as part of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and will now hand down the implementation plan to address inequality faced by First Nations people.

The centrepiece of the plan is a $378 million reparations scheme for Stolen Generations survivors in the Northern Territory who will get up to $75,000 each for suffering inflicted on them by forcibly removing them from their families.

Today on Please Explain, Nathanael Cooper is joined by Indigenous affairs reporter and Gamilaroi man Cameron Gooley.
