In this episode we move our focus to helping someone else with their emotional experiences. Here are some quick notes of the conversation:

• Assess if you care enough about this person to actually help in this moment
• Acknowledge your own emotional bandwidth right now and the capacity you have
• validate 3-5 times what this person is experiencing
• offer a deeper or more vulnerable possibility occurring in their emotional experience right now as well
• Allow the person to choose what part of their experience to focus on and stick with them using validation, simple open ended questions, curiosity, and a willingness to just be there with them as long as it takes
• you can test if they want a resolution by offering a possible solution and seeing if they engage or shoot it down. If they shoot it down, take it as a signal they are not emotionally ready to move to problem solving in this moment
