No more diets! It’s time to lose weight for the last time by living a healthy lifestyle through well-balanced eating and fitness.   About Nicole Nicole Simonin is a former professional ballet dancer who is now a health and wellness coach who helps women over 40 lose weight for the last time. She believes that there is no reason to eat like a bird or run yourself ragged with extreme cardio workouts. No more diets, no more insane workouts. Nicole’s passion for physical health began as a young girl diagnosed with juvenile Rheumatoid arthritis.  She went on to help others with their physical health as a physical therapy assistant. After having children and trying to balance work and parenting, Nicole realized that sometimes we have to make a decision between family and work. Nicole went into a very dark place after closing her fitness studio to raise her children but then found the book, “You Are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. After reading the book, she began to do mindset work and discovered more about herself, and transitioned to working with women over 40 to help them lose weight the healthy way, with no fad diets. Studying Results to Find Her Ideal Audience to Help Women Over 40 to Lose Weight for the Last Time You Get to Choose What You Want to Think After you turn 40 you are more mature and less worried about what others think of you and more about who you are. Nicole switched gears to personal training and because of Covid now works with women virtually. Using Mindset to Lose Weight for the Last Time You don’t need fad diets to lose weight. Mindset work can get long-term results by accepting your body, eating healthy foods, and exercising. If the donut calls to you, it’s OK to have the donut. As we age, we can reflect back and realize, that we had an unhealthy mindset when we were depriving ourselves.  We were all taught that calories in had to equal calories burned. It was an unhealthy mentality. It’s Not Always the Goal to Lose Weight But, it Should Always Be the Goal to Be Healthy   Physical appearance doesn’t necessarily indicate healthy or unhealthy. It’s important to look at labs and be sure that you aren’t diabetic or borderline diabetic if you are overweight. Likewise, a person with six-pack abs could still be unhealthy if they are anorexic. It’s OK to be proud of your body, even if overweight, but take care of your body. This is where mindset comes in. If you love your body, then you want to take care of it. There is a difference between accepting your body and taking care of it than accepting it and not exercising and not eating healthy. If we truly love our bodies, we will take care of them. Weight does not define beauty, but the important thing is to take care of your body. Staying Healthy Over 40   Look good, feel good, be good! Hormonal changes definitely occur.  We are all unique and different and every woman transitions through perimenopause and menopause differently.  It’s very important for women to be in touch with their doctors. Body changes may not be related to genetics or hormones. Sometimes people stop working out and then get frustrated because they’ve gained weight.  But the reality is, they have stopped exercising.  They eat the same but don’t move the same. It’s important to take a look at what you are doing differently.  Pay attention to hunger and satiety. Another question is to ask yourself what you are thinking about perimenopause and menopause.  You won’t progress if you are believing that it’s doom and gloom after 40. Aging is how we frame it. It can be positive or negative, it depends on how we think about it. Muscle is the Fountain of Youth, Especially When You Want to Lose Weight The more muscle you have the more metabolic rate you will have, the more calories you burn even when doing nothing. Having strong muscles helps keep the body healthy overall. If you want to lose weight and stay healthy, lifting weight is an important addition to your exercise regimen. You don’t have to lift heavy weights and you aren’t going to have bulging muscles, to be healthy and have a healthy muscle mass when lifting weights. As we age, we need more weight-bearing exercises and fewer cardio exercises. What is the Balance of Cardio vs. Weight-Lifting to Stay Healthy or Lose Weight?   Every person is entirely different.  But for beginners who have weight to lose, the key is to get them up and moving if they haven’t been. Start with two days of resistance work and a few days of cardio, walking. If already at your ideal weight or more body composition, the workout plan gets more detailed. Four days a week of gym work, maybe up to six days. This doesn’t have to mean hours in the gym. You can do 20 to 30 minutes of weights mixed with 20 to 30 minutes of cardio. Generic workouts and diets are so generalized.  When over 40, you need something specific to your body and your needs.  They might work for some people, but they don’t work for all people the same way.   Have No Equipment at Home? You Can Still Work Out to Lose Weight or Stay Healthy.   Use your own body weight. You can use your own body for resistance. For example, pushups. You can do pushups on the wall, on the counter, on the floor. The advantage of having a health and fitness coach is that they’ll teach you what you can do based on your body, previous injuries, and goals. Squats and planks are also great bodyweight resistance exercises. Weight Loss Can Be Super Simple   All you have to do is move your body, fuel your body and have to manage your mind. The perfect diet won’t work if you don’t take action and do the work because you don’t like it. Chronic Illness and Exercise Mindset and working with a coach can help people who have a chronic illness because they’ll help you be consistent and create a fitness regimen that works for you. This is very dependent on each individual person. Do what you can each day and use the mindset work, because you might have to give yourself the grace to pause so that you can move forward. It’s important to take action that works for us as individuals. Weight Loss for the Last Time is Accessible and Affordable if Willing to Invest in Yourself   The more we invest in ourselves the more others are willing to invest in us. Think of how can you afford not to do it? When you invest in yourself, you are more likely to achieve the goal because you value the money you are spending to accomplish the goal. You will be more likely to show up to get what you want from the coach. Invest in yourself and be sure to select the coach that is best for you. Start with selecting someone who has credentials.
