Big money (5x to 10x gains) can be made from investing in small mines as a retail investor. It is true that small mines can have all the potential problems that big mines have but without possessing the size upside that big mines possess. Because of this many recommend avoiding small mines altogether. However, while a small mine will never be a world-class or even tier-one deposit, significant potential profit upside for retail investors nevertheless exists.
