If your inbox is anything like mine, you are constantly getting pitches that are less than ideal so your options are to either ignore them (which is totally fine to do on occasion) or you can respond and let them down easy. 

I know sometimes if the pitch is really off, I have responded and given them some unwanted feedback, but usually, that ends up being a waste of time. 

So let’s dive into how to politely decline guest pitches so that they aren’t left hanging.
