Karen Bubb is an exceptionally active and engaged artist and Cultural Planner who has been pioneering the fine arts and culture scene in Boise, Idaho for more than twenty years. Her influence has helped shape not only the physical landscape of Boise, but the supportive art community that the city is known for. Bubb’s work with the city of Boise has transformed the downtown landscape and re-prioritized the arts, history and culture in a way not typical for a mid-sized city. Her work spans in scope from long term and city scaled strategic planning to the intimate guidance of individual artists. From re-imaging Boise neighborhoods to spearheading Artist in Residence Programs – if the arts are at play, you can be sure Bubb is nearby.

Karen has been a tireless advocate for Boise’s art and culture and much of the public art we love exists, in part, thanks to her. If you want to learn more about Boise’s Art and History Department visit: https://www.boiseartsandhistory.org/.
