In Session With Marc David: A 48 Year Old Woman Ends The Battle With Her Body https://psychologyofeating.online/ss/ Are you ready to transform your relationship with food in a lasting and meaningful way? What if you could help others find the path to greater freedom and joy with food as well?   Melanie is a 48-year-old yoga instructor who had no weight issues before her pregnancies. She then gained 65 pounds, which she has been unable to lose. Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, explains to Melanie why dieting is not working for her, and describes what will help and why. Listen now!   Key Insights:   Even those who have no problem with weight can develop weight issues later in life and may find it difficult to lose the weight. Our bodies are constantly changing, and there can be a multitude of reasons weight loss isn’t happening.   The thyroid can be implicated in weight gain, so getting worked up by a medical practitioner is a key step in ruling out possible causes.   Trying to lose weight can be a stressor. Dieting often makes the body hungry, stressed. Therefore, getting off the diet cycle and aligning with the long-term goal of sustainable, gentle weight loss is key.   Eating too fast robs us of enjoying our food, as well as the sensation of satiation after a meal. Ironically, part of effective weight loss means owning the pleasure we receive from food. Why not allow yourself to slow down a little and truly savor every bite?    Pleasure from a meal regulates the appetite. So, it is important to create a positive atmosphere for eating and to give time for cephalic phase digestive response of the body.   With his dual training in clinical nutrition and psychology, Marc David has spent the last 40 years helping people around the world heal their relationship with food. As the founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, he reaches millions each year through his books, speaking engagements, celebrated podcast series, and his internationally-acclaimed Mind Body Eating Coach Certification Training.    Interested in becoming a certified coach in eating psychology?
