This week:

After months of resisting calls from the Democrat members, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an official impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The reason for Speaker Pelosi’s decision stems from a phone call over the summer with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky. The conversation led to a whistleblower complaint that accused President Trump of pressuring the Ukrainian president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter over business dealings in the country.

President Trump on Wednesday, allowed the release of a five-page summary of his phone call with Ukraine’s leader. On Thursday, Acting Intelligence Chief Joseph Maguire testified on Capitol Hill before the House Intelligence Committee, defending his handling of the whistleblower complaint.
