Welcome back to the Invasions Series.

Today we're talking about the Fir Bolg, and their courage and endurance.

This series is all about the oldest stories of Ireland, and the people who came to this land from afar over thousands of years. The fourth group of people to come to Ireland were the Fir Bolg, descendants of Nemed who were oppressed and enslaved for hundreds of years, keeping their faith alive by telling stories of a promised homeland. We saw a modern resonance in the desperation of people who cross the Meditteranean in makeshift boats in search of a better life, and talk about the Fir Bolg’s division of Ireland into its five provinces.
