Partial obedience is also partial disobedience.
Jacob wrestled with God and in his surrender he found victory as God gave him a new name and a new nature. As Jacob travels back to the land of promise and meets his brother on the way, will he faithfully follow God as Israel, or will he fall back into his old ways as Jacob?
This week we read through Genesis 33 and see Jacob reunite with Esau after 20 years apart. We'll study together how Jacob's actions and decisions show that while his faith is growing, he is still relying on himself. And as we look at the small ways Jacob compromises in his obedience to God's word, we'll ask ourselves if we are fully obeying God in our own lives.
