We're starting the new year off with a bang as we welcome ATP touring pro Jason Jung to the podcast! A long-time friend and training partner, Jason has gone on to have a long and successful career on the pro tour. His journey has been arduous but 2018 was (as far as results are concerned) his best year on tour, as he reached a career high ranking of #114 in the world and played in his first ever Grand Slam main draw at Wimbledon.

Jason and I grew up together in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, CA. We had the same coaches for quite a while as juniors, working with Dan Mattera when we were young and then Paulo Alipio in our teenage years. We trained together often and even got the chance to play doubles with each other at a number of different tournaments, including the USTA Hard Court Super Nationals in Kalamazoo, MI.

Jason went on to play his college tennis at the University of Michigan where he was one of their top players throughout his four year career. After a brief hiatus from the game, Jason began his professional career in 2011 and has been grinding his way up the rankings ever since. In this episode we get into the highlights, challenges and things he's learned during his professional career seven years on the pro tour.

I hope you enjoy this conversation with Jason Jung!
